A building dated from 1500
Dating back to around the 1500s, the experience is located in one of the oldest buildings in Edam. After an extensive renovation, the building has been restored to its former state. How do I travel to Edam?
Directions
The Story of Edam Cheese is located at Spui 9 in the centre of Edam, about 20 minutes from Amsterdam North. The building is accessible for wheelchairs.

Public transport
EBS buses run from Amsterdam (on the IJ side of Central Station) in the direction of Edam and Hoorn; the best connection is with line 314, but you can also choose from lines 310, 312, 316, 317 (rush hour) and 318. see: www.ebs-ov.nl There is no train connection with Edam.

By car
From the direction of Amsterdam from the ring road of Amsterdam (A10) take exit Volendam (S116). After approx. 600m at the traffic lights turn right towards Volendam, this is the N247. You remain on the N247 (along Broek in Waterland and Monnickendam). You will automatically reach Edam and turn right at the traffic lights. After 250m turn left (before the traffic lights) into Burgemeester Versteeghsingel. (signs Centrum and VVV). After 150m turn left into the Baanstraat. After 100m you can park your car free of charge on your right for a period of 4 hours. Don’t forget the blue parking disc!
