The Rijksmuseum offers an extensive collection of Dutch art and history. This includes works by 17th-century Dutch masters such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Hals. 8000 artistic and historical objects tell the story of 800 years of Dutch history, from the year 1200 right up to the present. This State Museum exists for more than two hundred years, It belongs to one the most breathtaking museums in the world. 

The Rijksmuseum is located in the heart of Amsterdam’s Museum Square. It is one of the world’s most renowned art museums, and a beautiful building to see both from the inside and outside. In addition to the impressive gallery of Dutch Masters, the museum offers a wonderful collection of art from all eras and nations. A visit will keep you busy for a few hours.  

The largest museum of the Netherlands illustrates the rich Dutch history, from the Middle Ages to the present. Go back in time and admire the works of famous artists. Rembrandt’s most famous work, The Night Watch, can be seen again! After two months of treatment, the painting can be admired in all its glory. The Night Watch is located right at the front of the glass house and allows you to see this magnificent work upclose. Are there any facilities for disabled visitors?
The Rijksmuseum is accessible to visitors with disabilities. It has lifts; all museum galleries are wheelchair accessible. Electronic wheelchairs are permitted. The museum also has a limited number of wheelchairs available for use. You can enquire about these at the ticket office or information desk.
Are pushchairs permitted in the museum?
Pushchairs are permitted in the museum; backpack carriers are not; you can take these to the cloakroom. There are a limited amount of pushchairs available for your convenience.
Can I take photo's in the museum?
You are only permitted to take photos without a flash and videos without the use of lights. You are not permitted to take photographs or record video or film that requires the use of lights, flashbulbs and/or tripods (incl. selfie sticks) without prior written permission from the Rijksmuseum Board of Directors
